To be a change agent for our CNC and Automation efforts while also supporting local IT needs. Provide effective technical assistance to the site. This position will require a thorough understanding of production and IT equipment and carries the responsibility for supporting our efforts in refining, improving, and elevating to an improved state. Coverage includes localized site support that may open to supporting other locations when the need arises. Estimated 75% Operations focused and 25% Local IT focus.

Wage: $21.74-$29.08 (plus a 10% shift differential)

Location: Cannon Falls, MN

Schedule: 2nd Shift

A day as a Seasonal Technical Production Specialist can include:

  • Reviews work orders to ensure familiarization with job requirements, discussing details with the Plant Supervisor
  • Sets up and coordinates with other teams to produce desired components to complete the orders.
  • Coordination of fabrication of parts from Iowa to support production.
  • Reviews Standards, Standard Work Instructions, Training Guides, and Standard Operating Procedures and coordinates those changes to the Operations Training Supervisor.
  • Maintain a high-level attention to detail.
  • Coordinates and maintains required Walmart/Program finished product stocking levels.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner following all safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with team. Team focused
  • Work with Product Management and vendors to maintain and support, and enhance product.
  • Provide and support training to new employees and on implemented continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Ability to understand process flow and critical process steps to investigate scrap, rework, and overall plant yield.
  • Ability to flex between departments and plants as necessary.
  • May perform reasonably similar or related duties as directed.

IT Focus

  • Serve as the first point of contact for local site customers seeking technical assistance.
  • Manage Help Desk tickets in a timely manner - Diagnose and resolve first level IT tickets
  • Install, make changes, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  • Maintain active listing of equipment, hardware and software compliance.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel, when necessary
  • Arrange for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in house
  • Record events and problems and their resolutions in Jira ticketing system
  • Perform updates to existing documentation and publish new documentation as it pertains to IT Help Desk support.
  • Basic Active Directory functions including creating user accounts, resetting passwords, creating groups, etc.
  • Basic Microsoft Office 365 functions including setting licenses, updating/modifying email addresses, modifying user groups, etc.
  • Assist with other IT projects as needed and as time allows.
Skills and Abilities
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of operations, Walmart and UL requirements.
  • Ability to identify the need for and drive process improvements
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Sound knowledge of our Lean principles and Continuous Improvement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Problem Solving and troubleshooting skills and implementation of corrective actions
  • Team player, self-motivated, and eager to learn; must be able to work and contribute to a group
  • The ability to manage projects and achieve results in a specified time
Qualifications - Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • High level of computer proficiency
  • 2 years' experience in technical production environment preferred

Physical Demands:

  1. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
  2. Operate a variety of power saws and routers, cutting out letters from plastic sheets.
