Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Coordinator at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement, based in our Evanston, IL office.

The Senior Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) team with the development, implementation, and delivery of HR programs. This position collaborates closely with HRBPs and other teams across the organization to ensure the successful execution of initiatives in employee onboarding, talent and performance management, employee relations, compensation, recognition programs, and learning and development. Additionally, the Senior Human Resources Coordinator manages day-to-day HR activities, fosters a positive employee experience, and responds promptly to inquiries and requests.

What you'll learn and achieve:

As the Senior Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Partners with the other members of the HRBP team in the development, implementation and delivery of HR programs including employee onboarding, talent and performance management, employee relations, compensation, recognition awards, learning and development, and policies and procedures.

  • Manages and enhances the employee orientation and onboarding program to ensure a consistent, engaging, and scalable experience across the organization.

  • Partners with HRBPs to deliver strategic, high-impact HR support to our internal stakeholders that enhances the employee experience and drives organizational success.

  • Serves as a first point of contact for internal and external HR-related inquiries, ensuring timely response, appropriate escalation, and consistent communication of HR policies and procedures.

  • Enters and maintains accurate employee data in HR systems (including Workday); conducts tests and audits, resolves discrepancies, and generates standard and ad-hoc reports.

  • Identifies opportunities and work with the HR team to implement improvements to HR processes and employee experience.

  • Coordinates the development of new or revised programs and policies by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing research data, and making recommendations and suggestions for improvement.

  • Prepares and disseminates HR-related documents, such as employment verification letters, disciplinary letters, and employee communications.

  • Contributes to other departmental and cross-functional activities as required

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Communication, or related discipline

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist or coordinator capacity.

  • Experience with MS Office. Higher level skills in Excel and PowerPoint is required.

  • Experience working with a Human Capital Management System or an Applicant Tracking System. Experience with Workday, is a preferred.
