JOB DESCRIPTION

BVTI is seeking to identify a Data Analyst to support our contracts with the VA. The ideal candidate would be a strong problem solver and would work well in a team environment. The successful candidate will interpret the data our team members, clients, and stakeholders generate and turn it into reporting capabilities. The Data Analyst uses data to help solve business problems for BVTI's clients. This position will work in a dynamic team to perform a range of functions that assist BVTI in creating valuable information for our clients.



Position Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze complex data structures to ensure information is collected and properly stored to allow calculation of performance metrics.
  • Access third-party systems to extract, transform, and load data into BVTI's databases.
  • Create custom queries of existing data to extrapolate statistical estimates and calculations of statistical precision.
  • Create data flow diagrams and write technical documents that describe how information is processed through BVTI's file servers, database tables, database views, scripts, and analytics tools.
  • Research third-party systems to record metadata in BVTI's libraries and data dictionaries.
  • Monitor automated and manual tasks in our data pipelines to ensure specific tasks are completed and coordinate a response when tasks do not fully execute.
  • Apply analytic techniques to define project objectives and strategic direction.
  • Research, gather, and review data in order to produce written deliverables.
  • Work assigned tasks, action items, and tickets to completion.
  • At the direction from the Program Manager, may be expected to periodically provide direct support in the areas of data entry, document conversion, quality management, records management, mail services, and surveillance of product automation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Understanding of various analytic tools, including but not limited to, Tableau, QuickSight, SQL, Python and R a plus.
  • Ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.A. or B.S. degree with 2 years of relevant work experience.
