What to Expect
Tesla is looking for an innovative Electrical Studies Engineer with a proven background in power system analysis and arc flash studies and with knowledge in Autodesk Revit to join our Factory Design team in Fremont, CA. The ideal candidate will support the design, modeling, and analysis of electrical distribution systems to support factory infrastructure and manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with safety codes, performance standards, and BIM workflows. This position is full time, onsite.
What You'll Do
- Electrical Studies & Analysis to support Electrical System Design- Perform detailed load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash studies using tools such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools
- Conduct fault current, voltage drop, grounding, lighting, equipment sizing calculations to support design team to ensure system reliability and safety
- Generate and maintain one-line diagrams, study reports, and electrical distribution schematics
- Conduct site data collection to develop protection settings and arc flash labels for field implementation
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accurate coordination of electrical systems within the Revit and ETAP model
- Assist in standardization of Revit families and electrical templates
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3-7+ years of experience in electrical power system design and analysis
- Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower for electrical studies and arc flash analysis
- Proven experience using Autodesk Revit MEP for electrical modeling and documentation
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and IEC standards
- Excellent communication and documentation skills

Expected Compensation
$92,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
