Job Summary
The Compensation Analyst administers, analyzes, and assists with design and implementation of enterprise compensation programs.

Primary Objectives
  • Review job and pay change documentation for conformance to established guidelines, policies, and practices.
  • Prepare and review job description content and classifications.
  • Participate in salary surveys and analyze data from survey sources to determine competitiveness both internally and externally.
  • Administer cyclical compensation programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer compensation processes including merit and incentive payment cycles, offer and PAN approvals, and union rate increases.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to write, review, and audit concise, compliant, and accurate job descriptions.
  • Generate and monitor job description review workflows.
  • Analyze internal and external data and relevant market trends, maintain salary structures, and prepare market pricing recommendations.
  • Conduct analyses for new or revised jobs to determine appropriate mapping to job architecture, incentive compensation, FLSA classification, and salary range assignment.
  • Recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related concerns.
  • Develop, document, and maintain effective and efficient processes and procedures.
  • Perform audits to ensure alignment with compensation program guidelines and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare and submit salary survey data files within established timeframes.
  • Perform market pricing reviews ensuring integrity of survey job matches.
  • Conduct ad-hoc job evaluations and respond to compensation-related inquiries.
  • Assist with configuration and testing of compensation plans and processes in HR systems.
  • Assist with development and delivery of manager training and communications on compensation programs and processes.
  • Prepare and audit documentation for mass updates, mail merges, and Personnel Action Notices (PANs).
  • Prepare, modify, and distribute routine and moderately complex reports, charts, and data files.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a directly related field preferred
Work Experience
  • 2+ years' compensation program administration experience with direct responsibility for job pricing and job description development required required
  • Experience with private industry salary surveys such AON Radford or equivalent required preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles, practices, and concepts of salary structures, job architecture, and compensation program elements.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate compensation using salary survey market data and systems.
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, and define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply related skills to similar situations.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques with proven ability to appropriately prioritize and complete daily responsibilities and project deliverables.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong business writing skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proven ability to communicate effective across all levels of the organization, and to establish credibility and respect of employees, peers, managers, and leaders.
  • Demonstrated intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of appropriate practices and privacy requirements relating to the handling, storage, and transmission of confidential employee and organization data and records.
