Job Overview:

We have the finest emergency centers in the nation. Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center has specific service areas for Triage, Pediatric Care, Critical Care, Adult Medical/Surgical and Urgent Care, ensuring focused and dedicated staff, equipment and facilities. The Emergency Department is seeking a Coordinator Patient Care Registered Nurse to be part of our skilled and compassionate staff of physicians and nurses.

Essential Functions:

The Assistant Director of Patient Care, in conjunction with the Nurse Manager, will ensure that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients and his/her nursing units in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital. Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education. Provides input into evaluation of staff performance in accordance with organizational policies. Participates in nursing Quality Improvement. Assists with unit administration, including scheduling, payroll and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Maintains and role models clinical skills necessary to provide care to patients. Practice an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care.

Job Qualification/Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Current and active New Jersey Endorsed Registered Nurse License
  • BSN Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience or 2 years of acute care nursing with preview management experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) via American Health Association (AHA) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS)
  • Successful completion of all required Orientation Programs
