The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Senior Dental Receptionist is responsible for the smooth operations of the assigned clinical providers and area, scheduling appointments, and processing payment for clinical services.

Responsibilities



  • The Senior Dental Receptionist is responsible for reviewing and discussing treatment plans with patients, reviewing billing and collections, responding to patient inquiries, posting payments and reconciling financial data on the computer, running and reviewing daily clinic reports. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Coordinate activity of the Dental Receptionists, and delegate and direct as needed. Assist with scheduling requests and schedule adjustments.
  • Assist with the management of clinic schedules to include schedule modifications, as needed Actively manage referral work queues to ensure timely completion or resolution of referral requests. Patient reception, registration, and inquiries, verifying insurance eligibility when applicable. Ensure all clinical care has been approved by day's end.
  • Collect payments and issue receipts. Entering and verifying patient demographic information, and financial data on computer. Run and review daily clinical reports for managing patient accounts. Complete patient's reimbursement insurance forms.
  • Other related duties.


Minimum Qualifications



  • (2) Two years of college or completion of secretarial school or equivalent business experience plus a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years related experience.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree is desirable.
  • Payment handling experience and 2 years' experience with computer input.


Other Requirements



  • Knowledge of clinic computerized scheduling/chart/billing system. Must abide by "Principles of Behavior."
  • Must be extremely personable and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must also exhibit strong follow-through, establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and faculty, and maintain confidentiality of protected health and sensitive information.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish Required.
