Software Engineer (Backend)

Software Engineer (Backend) - (employer: CSS Payroll Co, L.P.; job location: New York, NY) - Create scalable and flexible software systems to process payments for internal systems to mitigate fraud. Write high quality, testable code. Write unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to prevent bugs and issues from being introduced in the systems. Investigate and resolve incidents when the system does not behave as intended. Set up monitoring and alerts to catch issues early in production. Help train other engineers by mentoring them and creating processes to improve their skillset. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering, plus 4 years of experience in the position offered or another Software Engineer position. All of the required experience must have included: developing HTTP and gRPC services using Python; working with NoSQL databases (Cassandra), search and analytics engines (Elasticsearch) and caching services (Redis); building highly effective observability and alerting tools using monitoring systems like Prometheus and Grafana; building web applications using React, JavaScript and TypeScript; building and deploying scalable, distributed applications and services on the cloud using Docker and Kubernetes; collecting, processing and storing events data using distributed streaming platforms like Kafka or message queues; and creating CI/CD pipelines using Docker and Shell script. #LI-DNI.
