The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Technician B is needed to provide general research support in a lab focused on translational biology, specifically focusing on cardiometabolic traits such as lipid metabolism, atherosclerosis, and metabolic syndrome. The research in the lab will span standard molecular biology techniques, protein and gene expression measurements, cell culture and in vitro experimentation, and animal model work.

Responsibilities
- Organization and preparation of the research lab.
- Setting up and calibrating equipment.
- Carrying out fully planned experiments.
- Preparation of solutions and common reagents.
- Interpretation of data and keeping records of results.
- Ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies, chemicals and equipment.
- Managing animal colonies and performing animal work.
- Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques preferred.
- Prior lab experience with tissue culture and standard molecular biology techniques preferred. Candidates with extensive prior experience with animal models will receive preference.
- Applicant must be willing to work with live animals.

- Candidate must Successfully undergo a drug screening test and a background check prior to receiving a final offer of employment.
