Provides entry level engineering support services to manufacturing engineering, mechanical design engineering, electronics engineering, and industrial design roles. Assures product quality by utilizing engineering tools and methodologies to support specification creation, prototype fabrication, and design validation testing.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Following standard processes and procedures, provides technical or mechanical support to internal and external teams to ensure products are manufactured/packaged accordance with specifications.

  • Supports design validation testing following internal and industrial test standards. And assists with development of engineering solutions based on test result analysis.

  • Provides on-site support for production/packaging teams and quality control groups.

  • Assists with the creation of part specifications and packaging/production specifications.

  • Participates in root cause analysis in response to nonconformances. Works with senior team members to design corrective actions and solutions to reduce defects with minimal cost.

  • Provides engineering support to continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Partners with senior team members to deploy quality engineering methodology such as statistical analysis, SPC, and capability analysis as basis for recommendations to leadership.

  • Assists with the design, testing, and implementation of tools and jigs to support production operations.

  • Supports NOA Corrective Action Request (CAR) initiatives.

  • Assists with creation of engineering documents specifying requirements for packaging, assembly, and quality control of retail finished goods and mechanical design solutions.

  • Provides technical support and laboratory or shop support for modeling, prototyping, testing, and refining products such as fixtures, jigs, or other mechanical design solutions.

  • Contributes basic knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment, and materials to assist with tailoring designs to achieve the most practical balance of quality, speed, and cost.

  • Facilitates Japanese/English communication between global engineering teams to ensure accurate and efficient exchange of technical information to support production and supply chain related projects.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 1 year of related engineering experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Solidworks, and Agile PLM

  • Knowledge of environmental, vibration, compression and impact stress testing methodologies

  • Familiarity with high-volume automated and manual production environments

  • Experience with design, prototype/mockup fabrication, and testing of parts or products made of metal, plastic, and/or paperboard

  • Basic knowledge of packaging materials and associated performance testing protocols (ISTA)

  • Background in part/component and assembly design, design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and creating data sets that fully define manufacturing requirements and critical quality characteristics.

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent

  • Valid passport may be required for international travel

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes a base salary range of $69,200 - $110,700 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
