We are searching for a talented Mental Health Associate

Hours:40hrs

Shift:Day shift; 7:30am - 4:00pm

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Under the direction of the Manager, Behavioral Health, work as a member of the behavioral health team to expand organizational support for equitable and accessible health management of behavioral health (BH), substance use disorders, and social determinants of health (SDOH). Provide culturally appropriate health education and utilize critical thinking to navigate systems. Facilitate the coordination of care and community resources to meet the patient's plan of care. Work in a team-based role and participate in team activities. Promote patient autonomy, address barriers to support treatment recommendations and optimal disposition planning for patients with a range of behavioral health, social, and medical concerns.
  • Equal to completion of 4 years of high school plus the completion of additional courses/training in community health work or behavioral health is required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred. Culturally competent with solid knowledge of the communities being served.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must have basic competency with documentation and computer skills.
  • Community Health Worker and/or Recovery Coach certification preferred, as is experience with EMR in medical settings, and Bilingual skills.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

  • Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
