Job Title: Human Resources Representative

Location(s): Los Angeles, CA

Position Summary
The HR Representative provides high-quality human resources support with a strong focus on customer service. This role serves as a subject matter expert in at least one HR functional area and supports faculty, staff, and administrators by responding to inquiries, interpreting policies, and ensuring accurate and timely resolution of HR-related requests.

Required Qualifications Experience & Systems
  • One (1) to three (3) years of demonstrated customer service experience in an internal HR, workforce administration (WFA), or benefits environment as a subject matter expert in at least one functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, Visual Vault, and HR web-based applications.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to clearly, concisely, and logically articulate ideas using appropriate editorial style and grammatically correct language.
  • Ability to translate technical information and concepts into easily understandable language for a diverse audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with faculty, staff, administrators, and coworkers, and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Customer Service & Professional Skills

  • Proven ability to deliver world-class customer service.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and thoroughness in work product.
  • Ability to maintain composure and productivity despite pressing deadlines, frequent interruptions, distractions, and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to stay current with constantly changing university systems, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Technical Skills

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Frequent use of fine motor skills, primarily computer keyboarding.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred/Institutional Knowledge

  • Knowledge of large academic or healthcare institution personnel and payroll policies and procedures.
