Overview
Blanchard Machinery is seeking a versatile and motivated Energy Intern to join our team in 2026! This part-time role (29 hours per week) offers an incredible opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to impactful business initiatives. Learn, grow, and make a difference with us! As an Energy Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting will gain hands-on experience supporting a diverse range of industries, with a primary focus on construction. This internship runs for a minimum of 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension based on availability. The Energy Intern will will also contribute to projects in mining, agriculture, forestry, electric power generation, and marine power. Serving industrial, commercial, and governmental clients, the intern will assist teams with operational tasks, project coordination, data analysis, and research. Under the mentorship of experienced professionals, this role offers exposure to real-world challenges and cross-sector solutions, helping interns build technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional networks in a dynamic, multi-industry environment. Responsibilities

- Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
- Operational Support
- Assist with day-to-day operational tasks such as job-site organization, equipment tracking, scheduling coordination, and departmental workflow support.
- Support basic equipment checks, documentation, and operational readiness tasks under supervision.
- Maintain organized documentation related to equipment, service logs, and operational data.
- Project Coordination & Project Management Support
- Assist with project coordination activities, including scheduling meetings, updating timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring deliverables stay on target.
- Support project managers in preparing scopes of work, progress updates, and basic project documentation.
- Help maintain project dashboards, status trackers, and shared project folders to ensure accurate and timely information flow across teams.
- Coordinate communication between internal departments (Service, Sales, Parts, Engineering, etc.) to support efficient project execution.
- Monitor assigned project tasks to ensure completion of basic action items.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings, work planning, and post-project reviews.
- Data, Reporting & Research
- Conduct research and compile data to support initiatives in mining, agriculture, forestry, electric power generation, and marine power.
- Support data analysis tasks, including organizing, interpreting, and presenting findings to internal teams.
- Help prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and client-facing documentation.
- Assist in gathering operational and project metrics for performance analysis.
- Collaboration & Professional Development
- Shadow experienced professionals to gain insight into cross-sector project workflows, equipment operations, and best practices.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on operational strategies and client solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by offering feedback and suggestions based on observations.
- Administrative & General
- Maintain organized records and assist with tracking project milestones, documentation, and deliverables.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements throughout the internship.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of college experience required.
- Interest in project management, operations, data analysis, construction, power generation, or equipment service preferred.
- Availability to work up to 29 hours per week during the internship.
- Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel for business purposes. Overnight travel not required but might be offered.
- Strong critical thinking skills coupled with attention to detail.
- Superior phone and email etiquette required for internal and external communications.
- High-level of personal integrity with ability to maintain, store, transmit and communicate highly confidential information.
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with executives, managers, employees, and customers.
Working Conditions
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside throughout the year.
- Required use of personal protective equipment required (all PPE will be provided by Blanchard)
- Position requires that the employee work on-site at designated location.
- Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
- Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
- Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
