Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Senior Construction Project Representative to join our team in Raleigh, NC. As a Senior Construction Project Representative, you will serve as a key field leader during the construction phase of municipal and land development construction efforts in eastern NC. You will be responsible for construction observation, contract administration support, and coordination on projects of average to complex difficulty. You will also oversee a variety of projects ranging in scale, supervise technicians and work closely with clients, contractors, and project engineers to ensure successful project delivery.

Our Construction Services enjoy building a team atmosphere with the construction contractor to deliver an exceptional product for the client and community. This position draws on previous experience working on various types of construction projects such as roadways, utility, downtown reconstructs, to serve as a community's "go-to" Construction Project Representative. We are looking to add an individual who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities!

This is a full-time permanent role.

What You Will Be Doing:


  • Serves as the construction project representative on projects of average to complex difficulty, ensuring construction is completed in substantial conformance with plans and specifications
  • Manage one large construction project or multiple smaller projects
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of construction activities, quantities, testing, and field documentation
  • Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and project engineers on day-to-day construction issues
  • Perform and/or coordinate material testing procedures and interpret results
  • Measure and document construction activities for final project quantities and as-built drawings
  • Makes and directs survey documentation and control of construction
  • Performs detailed engineering computations and detailed drafting and plan production work
  • Provides technical advice regarding construction modifications and repairs to clients, contractors and project engineers
  • Inspects project sites and evaluates contractor work to ensure conformance to design specifications
  • Reviews and approves project submittals, under supervision
  • Performs preliminary evaluations of existing infrastructure in the preliminary design phase
  • Assists with mentoring and developing technical staff
  • Travels regularly to work sites and other project related locations


What We Are Looking For:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent degree) plus four years of related experience OR 10 years of related construction
  • Experience working on roadway, utility, greenway projects is required
  • NCDOT Technical Certifications for Grading and Base I & II, Concrete Field I & II, and Bituminous Streets I & II are preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of NCDOT and/or CEAM specifications, general provisions, and standard plates, is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate an understanding of engineering concepts.
  • Possess a valid driver's license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.
  • Working understanding and experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required.
