Job Summary: The Pre-Construction Data Ops Specialist will be responsible for building, maintaining and analyzing data operations withing the Pre-Construction department within IES. Will work with compliance and Pre-Construction Managers to evaluate ongoing operations within Pre-Construction. Provide data reports and visualizations to the Pre-Construction Managers to drive continuous improvement within the organization. General Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develop PowerBI and Excel reporting tools for improvement and tracking departmental metrics. Provide in depth analysis and recurring report data on projects in progress of estimating. Initiates research on estimates and projects which have developed business case concerns. Includes interviewing PMs, Dept Managers, Estimators, Lead Designers and other personnel to create a root cause analysis resulting in a recommended corrective solution. Develop reporting metrics using custom built tracking, Spectrum and IESOS ERP systems with regards to fade/gain and process issues, as needed. Develop business tools to drive data automation and improve efficiency within the wider organization. Conduct training classes by presenting job-specific and company-specific software applications utilizing computer and virtual classrooms, webinars and other methods as required Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards Works with auditing teams to identify process improvements. Work with training team to design and implement new training programs and revise old programs Other duties as assigned Physical and Mental Requirements: Operate as a team member to assist management Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must be able to work a non-standard work schedule as required to provide job, team or individual specific training. For demonstration purposes, must be able to climb ladders, use hand and power tools, lift 50 pounds. Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop, implement and review project process improvement(s). Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Must possess the ability to learn and teach the Company and customer project management systems. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: Must possess a minimum of three (3) years training experience or related role. Prefer a minimum of five (5) years project management experience in telecommunications, electrical or a related technical or construction field. Must have comprehensive knowledge of the estimating process and procedures to produce estimates. Must have demonstrated knowledge of job costing, job planning, quality management, safety training and contract administration. Must have prior MS Excel and data science experience. PowerBI experience is preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Bachelor's Degree; Engineering, Data Science or Computer Science (Programming) preferred. Must be able to effectively use a computer, computer keyboard and mouse. Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Possess good knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their application.
