Kummer Center for STEM Education

Job Description

Coordinate all aspects of summer camp programming for the Kummer Center for STEM Education. Communication with parents/guardians, campus partners, off-campus constituents, and university faculty and staff are an essential part of this job. Provide assistance and support to the Director of Summer Camp Operations and the Project Manager of Summer Camp Operations in conducting University business and procedures.
  • Work with Kummer Center Staff as well as university faculty and staff to coordinate summer camps. This position will be the main point of contact for faculty and staff members regarding planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reservations
  • Maintain summer camp budgets and work with camp directors to ensure proper budgeting throughout the planning process
  • Serve as first point of contact for parents and families of summer camp participants
  • Use multiple registration systems, databases, and spreadsheet programs to manipulate data (previous knowledge of Slate is a plus)
  • Assist with updating the summer camps website page
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials for summer camp programming, including flyers, brochures, video, and social media
  • Work with campus partners to reserve space and housing for summer camp programs
  • Work with off campus partners to arrange field trips, meals, and other activities for summer camp programs
  • Research and gather information to organize data and prepare complex reports, presentations, and summaries of various materials
  • Order and purchase supplies for summer camps as well as general office supplies
  • Maintain PCI credit card compliance processes and procedures relative to acceptance of eCommerce or in-person collection of credit card transactions
  • Participate in ongoing market research and professional development for new topics, audience groups or program opportunities
  • Non-standard hours are required during event dates

  • Provide support for on-site registration during summer camps
  • Will use Zoom, Qualtrics, Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite, Outlook, Teams, Ideal Logic, and other software delivery tools
  • Assist with overall Kummer Center for STEM Education outreach initiatives to include K-12 field trip programs, STEM Mobile visits, after school activities, and community events
  • Provide general office support such as answering department phone, monitoring department's email, and updating calendars
  • Coordinate, assign, and mentor student workers and summer camp counselors
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Experience
  • Slate Experience or database experience
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.87-$26.87 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
