Senior Software Engineer

Design and develop software, using C++ for delivering features in collaboration with other vested parties. Perform code reviews and make recommendations on how to improve our software development processes. Help shape architecture, development practices, and escalation policies as the teams and the product grow. Work with cross-role partners, and other teams to specify, prioritize and deliver new features that delight our users. Estimate task complexity, report progress, and assess and voice risks for projects they are involved in. Contribute heavily to the maintenance of the existing codebase and contributing to thoughtful extensions of important customer facing features. Telecommuting permissible from any location within US.
 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and three (3) years of experience the job offered or a related role.

Experience and/or education must include:

1. Data structures and Algorithms for developing high performance data intensive applications;

2. Highly available distributed database systems and multi-threaded/ high concurrency systems for processing data;

3. Experience working with state machines and workflows in a database control plane;

4. Experience implementing REST APIs for database services;

5. C++ and Javascript programming language;

6. On-call responsibilities to mitigate live customer issues;

7. Experience integrating observability tooling into application code;

8. Experience implementing business continuity and disaster recovery features for database systems; and

9. Familiarity with development tools such as Git, VSCode and Kanban boards.
