The Welder will be responsible for providing TIG and MIG welding for frames and other sub-assemblies. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, and a high degree of initiative and follow-through. This is a full-time position based at the Company’s Grain Valley, Missouri facility. The Welder position reports to the Operations Manager.

Essential Job Functions
  • Review blueprints prior to starting a project.
  • Source the materials to be used in the project.
  • Measure and cut materials to blueprint specifications.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Weld materials using the correct materials to join the metals together.
  • Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
  • Check finished work to ensure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
  • Operate press brake, saws, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions calling for repairs.
  • Conserve resources and minimize waste generation to the extent possible.
  • Comply with safety and personal protective equipment policies.
  • Meet project completion timelines and shipping schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient shop and production area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Welding certification.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge of general shop tools and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and do general math.
  • Ability to interpret and work from shop drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy.
  • Knowledge of various welding techniques using 304 & 316 SS, including TIG and MIG.
  • Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques.
  • Clear and concise oral and written English language communication skills required, including proper grammar and e-mail etiquette.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work under high pressure conditions and to successfully handle stressful situations efficiently, professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Detail oriented, with a high degree of follow-through.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and activities and adapt quickly to time-sensitive needs.

Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, speak and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate the equipment and tools required for this position.
  • Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
  • Must maintain a clean and professional appearance while working with customers, vendors and colleagues.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
  • Light to Heavy Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

This position is non-exempt. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The base salary range for this position is between $30 and $32 per hour. Benefits package and incentives are provided.
