Job DescriptionPerforms a variety of technical and clerical accounting duties involving the accounting, recording and reporting of financial transactions and provides dependable accounting assistance for the performance of many varied accounting office tasks requiring independent judgment. The successful candidate must have advanced knowledge of MS Office applications to perform various support duties including preparation of reports, projects, documents, letters, itineraries, calendars, or presentations. It is important that the individual in this position be comfortable and professional when working with confidential or sensitive information. Essential Functions Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community. Be familiar with TSTC information, policies and organizational structure to assist the student with questions, inquiries and concerns. Assist the student with payments, payment plans, financial aid applications, verification of awards, class schedules, and other student services related assistance Receive, review, and prepare source documents for data entry into the student accounting system Perform student accounting functions including but not limited to collections, billing, sponsorships, refunds. Create reports related to student accounting functions Validate and reconcile computer printouts of financial data against source documents. Answer incoming phone calls and be able to provide answers for students, faculty and staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills High school graduate or equivalent. Associates degree is preferred. Three years of experience in administrative, clerical, student accounting/student services. Experience in Higher Education and accounting/bookkeeping experience is preferred. High level of commitment to customer service and teamwork. Proficient use of personal computer and software applicable to the work. Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and telephone etiquette skills.
