Job Summary:
The Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Specialist supports, optimizes, and maintains M1 Support
Services' enterprise HRIS platforms across multi-state, union and non-union, and government-contract
environments. This role serves as the technical bridge between HR, Payroll, IT, Compliance, Benefits, and external
vendors to ensure system accuracy, data integrity, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
HRIS Administration & Optimization
* Administer, configure, and maintain HRIS platforms to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
* Manage system security, role-based access controls, user permissions, audit logs, and data governance standards.
* Support system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and new module implementations.
Systems Integration & Data Management
* Maintain integrations between HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, Timekeeping, E-Verify, onboarding, learning management,
and vendor platforms.
* Program and maintain automated workflows, queries, data extracts, dashboards, reports, and compliance alerts.
* Monitor and resolve data discrepancies across interconnected systems.
Reporting, Analytics & Compliance
* Develop standard and ad-hoc reports for HR leadership, Finance, Compliance, Operations, and government audit
support.
* Ensure system compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, ITAR/EAR, OFCCP, FLSA, FMLA, ACA, E-Verify, and
state-specific labor regulations.
* Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, system logs, and data validation reports.
User Support & Training
* Provide tier-2/3 technical support to HR, Payroll, and site leadership for HRIS-related issues.
* Develop user guides, SOPs, training materials, and conduct system training sessions.
* Identify training gaps and recommend enhancements to improve adoption and system utilization
Process Improvement & Vendor Management
* Serve as the HRIS subject-matter expert and liaison between HR, IT, Finance, Benefits, and external vendors.
* Evaluate emerging HR technology trends and recommend solutions that enhance automation, accuracy, and
operational efficiency.
* Participate in HR transformation initiatives, system migrations, and digital modernization projects.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or
related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
* Demonstrated technical proficiency with at least one commercial HRIS platform (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP, Oracle, SAP,
Paylocity, or similar).

* Minimum 3+ years of progressive HRIS administration or systems analyst experience.
Skills
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) and reporting tools.
* Strong understanding of HR compliance frameworks and data security principles.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment with competing priorities.
* Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
* Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Working Conditions:
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
* Occasional travel to program sites may be required.
