Job Summary:
This position will lead the day shift custodial team with the Wisconsin Union at Union South. The position oversees both the 1st (6:30am-3pm) and 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm) custodial teams at Union South but will have the opportunity to help at our other facilities including the Memorial Union, Pyle Center and University Club. This position supervises 7 full time staff, including 2 assistant supervisors, about 15-20 part time student staff who are responsible for the daily cleaning operations of both the interior and exterior of the building to ensure the facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly environment. Other responsibilities include scheduling, assigning project work, inspecting work to make sure it meets department standards, maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and provide training and support for the team. The core schedule for this position will be Sunday through Thursday 6:30am to 3pm, ability to flex outside of those days and times to work with, train and support the 2nd shift team and needs the ability to cover for team members as needed and for large or VIP events throughout the year (Graduation, Badger Bash, etc) **Applicants for this position may be used for other Custodial Services Supervisors positions that may open up. Department: Union South- Building Services Compensation: $55,000- annually Required Qualifications: -One year custodial experience. -Experience in leading and guiding the work of others, preferably with the custodial filled. -Basic English speaking and writing abilities. -Basic computer skills. Preferred Qualifications: -6 months of Management Experience -Experiences using Microsoft Word. -Experience using Microsoft Excel.
