Overview

The Associate (EP) will play a crucial role in identifying, organizing, and coordinating work across Electric Operations to ensure that street projects that involve digging by Con Edison crews are completed ahead of the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) paving schedules. This proactive approach is essential for minimizing extraneous costs and enhancing municipal relationships by reducing the need for excavations on newly paved streets, which can be both costly and disruptive. To achieve this goal, the Associate (EP) will utilize a variety of internal systems. These include WMS Logica for work management, Energy Services CPMS for new and additional customers project tracking, geospatial software ProceMX for mapping and analysis, and Adept for document management. Additionally, they will use permits in NYCStreets and the ROPES system to compare Electric Operations planned work against the DOT schedule. This comprehensive approach ensures that all planned work is aligned with the DOT's paving timelines, thereby preventing unnecessary delays and additional costs. The Associate (EP) will maintain regular interactions with regional commodity leaders, engaging with them on a weekly or bi-weekly basis depending on the specifics of the jobs. These interactions are vital for driving projects to completion, as they ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned on project timelines and requirements. Moreover, the Associate (EP) will have additional responsibilities, including regular interactions with the DOT to ensure that all projects are progressing as planned. This role also involves holding meetings to discuss project status as well as address any issues to ensure a favorable result. Moreover, these meetings are crucial for maintaining clear communication. These efforts will add significant value to the organization by providing valuable insights into operations, minimizing bottlenecks, and highlighting actionable items with streamlined metrics. This, in turn, will increase productivity and efficiency while reducing expenses.
