Pay Transparency:

The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Requirements:

Graduate of an approved Respiratory School with a minimum of an associates degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent,

Bachelors Preferred,

licensed RRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care,

Three years staff therapist experience, with at least one year in a supervisory position desirable,

Demonstrated effective communication skills,

Must maintain current New Jersey license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner,

Must maintain BLS (Basic Life Support),

ACLS, NRP and PALS required,

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administers therapies designed to maintain or restore normal gas exchange function in the cardiopulmonary system,

Acts as a resource for the health care team on subjects relating to but not limited to care of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders,

Maintain positive relationships with all customers: employees, physicians, patient, family visitor and guests,

Uses a variety of feedback methods to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs,

Uses sound employee relations practices and maintains a high level of visibility and accessibility,

Use principles of CQI and Lean in work situations,

Seek feedback and recommendations from others to improve quality, processes and services,

Contribute to improving quality services and productivity,

Take initiative to consistently evaluate one's work, report issues, suggest solutions and try new ideas,

Supervise personnel in all aspects of daily patient care to ensure quality service,

Coordinate department staffing and daily patient assignments,

Provide consistent role-modeling and direction in the workplace,

Facilitate interactions with Director and Medical Director,

Initiate policies and procedures for new equipment and processes,

Complete tasks and assignments in a timely and accurate manner,

Remains positive and focused despite obstacles and setbacks,

Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing assignments,

Determine priorities and organizes work and time to meet them,

Demonstrate cultural competency and the ability to maintain a diverse workforce,

Interacts tactfully, constructively and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively,

Identify areas for improvement,

Formulate plans and obtain results,

Perform performance improvement activities such as chart reviews and patient audits,

Organize multiple assignments and/or projects to accomplish goals,

Fulfills the role of Staff Therapist in all areas as needed Provides praise for performance and behaviors,

Perform and complete staff performance appraisals with input from Clinical Coordinators, Director and related sources within established timeframe,

Coordinate with Department Educator and Clinical Coordinators for orientation, inservicing, policy, procedure & guideline development, department PI activities and information gathering as requested by the Director,

Maintain knowledge and consistency in interpretation and implementation of Department, Hospital, Administrative and Human Resource policies and procedures,

Demonstrates the awareness of safety, security, life safety, preparedness and utility and equipment management policies competencies;

Adheres to Standard Precautions

Adheres to Safety and Infection Control policies

Attends mandatory in-services

Demonstrates awareness of security, life safety, emergency

Preparedness and utility and equipment management policies and procedures

Helps maintain a safe and clean patient/work environment

Follows incident reporting procedures

Moderate to heavy lifting, walking, kneeling,

Dexterity, standing, acute visual & hearing ability to respond to emergencies are required,

Must maintain annual competencies in the following age specific populations: Neonatal, Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric,

Ensures that appropriate standards of practice follow corporate compliance guidelines, acts in an ethical and legal manner, and assure that all actions are in the best interest of the hospital,

The results of accreditation surveys and licensure reviews by NJSDOH and T JC are satisfactory,

Pleasant well lighted and climate controlled working areas through out hospital,

Potential exposure to air borne and blood borne pathogens& probable exposure to blood borne pathogens,

Possible exposure to equipment related injury,
