This opportunity is for our Electric Heat business. Electric Heat is a trusted leader in electric heating and ventilation solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. Backed by the strength of ASPEQ Heating Group and Marley Engineered Products, we offer a wide range of standard and customized products through leading brands like QMark, Indeeco, Berko, and Brasch.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections, electrical testing, and evaluation of products and components to ensure compliance with company, customer, and industry standards. This role supports daily quality workflows, maintains critical documentation, and collaborates with manufacturing, engineering, and vendors to uphold SPX's commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Quality Inspection & Testing

  • Conduct inspections and electrical tests to verify products or components meet all requirements.
  • Ensure products comply with military standards, agency standards (UL, CSA), and special drawing/specification requirements.
  • Review purchased components requiring incoming quality inspection and determine acceptability.
  • Maintain certification records for purchased products as required.

Returned Goods & Troubleshooting

  • Evaluate returned goods from customers and work with manufacturing on disposition.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and verification when product issues or failures are identified internally or externally.
  • Support field service requests when needed.

Quality Documentation & Compliance

  • Document inspection data and maintain records in alignment with company policies.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality standards.
  • Document vendor non-conformances and provide input on acceptance and future vendor decisions.

Communication & Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities.
  • Recommend process or quality improvements to management.
  • Assist with testing and measurement equipment concerns.

Safety & Work Standards

  • Support SPX Values: Integrity, Accountability, Excellence, Teamwork, Results.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including proper PPE usage during product testing.
  • Maintain daily quality workflow, RMAs, and tasks to support set performance metrics.
Additional Skills & Competencies
  • Strong electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; SyteLine experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to other ASPEQ facilities or for field service trips.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

Required Experience

  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Strong electrical understanding.
  • Experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with testing equipment and quality measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with government and industry standards (UL, CSA, military specifications).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and SyteLine.
  • Ability to travel for facility support or field service.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Frequent carrying, grasping, reaching, pulling, and stooping for parts and components.

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional technical coursework or certifications in electrical, mechanical, or quality disciplines are a plus.

Working Environment, Schedule and Travel

  • Normal work hours (5 - 8-hour days -Mon - Fri)
  • Must be flexible to work overtime as required
