OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking an experienced Document Control Specialist for our growing practice in energy, manufacturing and bioprocessing projects, including work in industrial manufacturing, food and personal care, power, oil and gas, and bioprocessing industries. The business is currently comprised of a wide variety of industrial projects, including heavy retrofit, life extension, and advanced technology development projects in a variety of industrial environments, including manufacturing facilities, food and personal care production facilities, power plants, refineries, as well as advanced technology projects in the bioprocessing space, including biofuels, biochemicals, waste to energy, and renewable natural gas.

We are seeking an experienced Document Control Specialist to support engineering projects using Procore. This role is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining project documentation to ensure accuracy, version control, and compliance with company and project standards. Responsibilities may extend beyond document control including supporting our procurement team. This position will be based at our Greenwood Village, CO headquarters and will be eligible for a hybrid schedule.

Hourly pay range for this position is $31.00 - $40.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience. Once trained, a hybrid schedul


WHAT YOU'LL DO

The document control specialist is responsible for managing the documentation developed for our projects. Accurate and timely project document leads to project success and the client's satisfaction. As a document control specialist, the work will involve:

  • Manage and maintain all project documentation within Procore, including drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, correspondence, and reports.
  • Upload, index, distribute, and archive documents in accordance with established document control procedures.
  • Ensure accurate version control and revision tracking; verify that only current, approved documents are accessible to project teams.
  • Implement and enforce document naming conventions, folder structures, and workflows within Procore.
  • Coordinate document reviews, approvals, and distributions with engineers, project managers, consultants, and clients.
  • Coordinate the receipt, distribution and review of submittals from vendors and contractors, including tracking status and revisions.
  • Monitor document status and follow up to ensure timely processing and compliance with project schedules.
  • Archive superseded or obsolete documents to prevent unintended use.
  • Support QA/QC processes, audits, and project closeout by maintaining complete and accurate records.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on Procore document management best practices.
  • Generate reports and assist with document-related metrics as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) + years of document control experience in an engineering or construction environment.
  • Proficiency with Procore document management tools; experience with drawings, submittals, and RFIs preferred.
  • Strong understanding of document control processes, and revision management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation standards and QA/QC requirements preferred.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
