DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Kitchen Steward, you will be responsible for supporting chefs and service teams by ensuring all kitchen areas, equipment, and service items meet sanitation and operational standards. Work involves dishwashing, deep cleaning, basic food preparation, inventory support, and assisting with events and deliveries while upholding sanitation, safety, and organizational standards in a high-volume, detail-driven kitchen environment. You will also have the opportunity to provide support for the seasonal vegetable garden as well as assist with market and farm errands. Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Ability to work and maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail
- Ability to take initiative in identifying cleaning, restocking, or organizational needs without constant supervision
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen equipment and supplies
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and support team needs as directed
- Willingness to take direction and work collaboratively with kitchen staff
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices (training provided if needed)
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and event days as required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime is to be expected.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of wait staff experience for a restaurant or catering service; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession and maintenance of a valid non-commercial Class C Pennsylvania driver's license or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
