Job Description
Are you ready to play a vital role in protecting Michigan's natural gas infrastructure? At SEMCO, we're looking for a Corrosion Technician I to help ensure the safety and reliability of our underground pipeline system. In this role, you'll work under direct supervision to inspect, maintain, and correct cathodic protection systems that prevent corrosion on our pipelines. Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in a field setting and requires the use of personal protective equipment. Duties involve driving, sitting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, digging, standing for extended periods of time, operating heavy equipment, fine finger movement and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Frequent travel to various worksites is also required, depending on assignment. Job sites may include interior and exterior work locations that involve hazardous environments requiring personal protective equipment and some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust and noise. Occasional work is required in confined spaces, on ladders and in adverse weather conditions. We offer a competitive hourly wage of $26.83 to $38.91 per hour for this opportunity, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.
