PURPOSE:
We are seeking a highly technical and experienced Senior Environmental Engineer to provide environmental compliance leadership across our Mayville, (WI), Dillon, (SC) and North Grafton, (MA) manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of the company's environmental programs and procedures to Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hazardous waste management, wastewater operations, stormwater operations, air compliance and chemical processing. The ideal candidate must have a strong working knowledge of regulatory permit management and be well versed in air pollution control systems. The individual will serve as the subject matter expert, ensure compliance and manage complex projects and capital improvements, and support EHS programs across the three locations. The selected individual must also develop, train and ensure appropriate training programs are in place for each regulatory program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Execution of all environmental policies
* Regulatory compliance
* Construct, maintain and manage air/water pollution control systems and operations
* Training affected WG employees on all applicable environmental programs
* Perform and/or coordinate sampling as required
* Implementing programs to reduce risks/costs of handling, storing, and disposing hazardous waste materials
* Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental laws, regulations, permits, licenses, and orders
* A working knowledge of manufacturing processes and good rapport with manufacturing personnel and pollution control facilities' operators. Formulate and propose compliance engineered solutions and strategies related environmental compliance.
* Function as subject matter expert to Business Operations to implement strategy, generate options, and assist in implementing solutions to complex environmental and occupational safety and health problems.
* Maintain a working knowledge of Division processes, present and emerging regulations, the state of the art in control equipment and process modification techniques.
* Exclusively represent the Business Operation in dealing with Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies. Maintain credible professional relationships with these agencies, appropriate elected representatives, media contacts, Division employees and the community in general.
* Provide input to regulation development when appropriate; represent the locations in all dealings with regulatory agencies in resolution of compliance issues. Secure all necessary permits and variances.
* Select, train, and motivate qualified staff to achieve and maintain compliance
REQUIREMENTS:
* BS degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
* 5+ years of direct environmental engineering experience in manufacturing and/or aerospace environments
* Travel as required between locations (~50%)
* Demonstrated experience with: LQG hazardous waste management, Air Pollution control systems, Wastewater operations, Stormwater Reporting and Permitting, EPCRA TRI and Tier II reporting, General Environmental Permitting.
* Broad knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, multi-state. .
* Strong project management and capital project experience
* Ability to formulate technical reports and communicate internally and externally.
* Thorough understanding of the company's manufacturing processes, organization, and culture and business goals.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience leading audits and managing agency inspections.
* Superior communication, persuasion, and motivation skills.

* Planning and managerial skills.
* Solid understanding of safety, industrial hygiene and engineering principals and the ability to apply to the company's operation.
Ability to look at the plant's current position regarding EHS and compliance issues, to identify strengths and weaknesses and to select and promote an appropriate course of action to resolve outstanding issues in order to protect employees and to foster the company's success.
