Description

PC technicians help with employee escalated technical issues, stage new computers, and assists in employee relocations.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Installing and maintaining desktop, laptop, and peripheral hardware and software for multiple business units.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for software/hardware installation and configuration
  • Providing excellent customer service by supporting end-users and coordinating with other departments and team members to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Updating and installing software to keep all workstations in compliance with the company security standards.
  • Asset management of all workstations and software installs and complete the paper work in a complete and timely manner.
  • Support for computing devices, networking, telecom, and software packages used by local business units.
  • Configuration and set up of all software and any other hardware device connected to the PC.
  • Provide technical expertise, as appropriate, for multiple remote locations as required by the department manager. Therefore, some travel may be required. Stable transportation is highly desired.
  • Schedule and maintain software upgrades/updates as appropriate on all PC systems
  • Must be able to assign tasks and track those tasks until completion.


Position Requirements:



  • 2-3 years of experience in desktop support area
  • Three or more years of relevant technical support or IT training
  • Understanding of PC technical support, remote communications, local area and wireless networking, operating systems, software installation and configuration
  • Email troubleshooting skills and expertise, with the ability to resolve complex PC/Network technology issues
  • Strong customer service attitude and initiative, exceptional communication skills, including technical writing
  • Ability and flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and multi-task assignments
  • Ability to approach issues and projects with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, innovation and quality
  • Ability to interface with people at all levels of the company
  • Understanding of how IT affects an organization and the ability to link it to redesigned business processes
  • Configuration and set up printers/faxes/PDAs(Blackberry, i Phone etc)
  • Previous experience in desktop hardware and software support.
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking with strong abilities in problem solving PC issues.
  • Experience installing and reloading applications and Microsoft Windows operation system on desktop and laptop computers
  • Networking / Telecommunication concepts and data cabling and patching skills desired

High School (required)
Experience
3 years: Relevant technical support or IT training (required)
2 - 3 years: Desktop support (required)
