| Position Summary |
The purpose of this Research Technician position is to provide support for a molecular biology, informatics and translational laboratory. This will require exceptional organization and communication skills and attention to detail due to the sensitive nature of the work. This position will require organization and maintenance of databases and inventories of high complexity as well as web design and maintenance. In addition, this position will involve conducting molecular biology experiments with precision according to protocols including but not limited to nucleic acid isolation, bacteria work, next-generation sequencing with limited supervision. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Previous knowledge of molecular biology, including but not limited to
PCR, tissue culture of primary cells, transfection,
DNA,
RNA and protein in mammalian, bacteria or analogous organism work. Must demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills and the development of independent skills. |
| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse group of people. Preferred advanced computer software experience and programming skills including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, MatLab and Linux.
