Roll-Off Driver (Palmetto FL)

Waste Connections is looking for individuals who have a passion for driving, career growth and share our #1 Value: Safety! We are looking for Roll-Off Garbage Truck Driverto join the team at our location in Palmetto Hauling Palmetto, FL.

Monday-Friday starting at day shift starts at 5:30am typically working 10-11 hour days. You may also work occasional Saturday for extra overtime. We offer family benefits, 401k, and vacation.

Pay range $25.00 an hour DOE

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience preferred.
• Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, with an occasional Saturday as needed, 50 hour work week.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class A or B CDL
• Have at least 2 years of work experience as well as a stable work history, preferably in a driver position.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds.
• Able and willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Garbage Truck experience a PLUS!!!
• Garbage is very stable and we work year round!
