Summary: The Operations Mixer I is responsible for executing approved mixing and batching operations in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. This role supports daily production by measuring, weighing, and blending ingredients according to approved recipes and SOPs while maintaining strict compliance with GMPs, food safety, quality, and safety requirements. The Mixer I operates under direction and builds foundational skills in batching accuracy, equipment operation, and sanitation.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Execute approved recipes and batch sheets in accordance with SOPs and production schedules
  • Weigh, measure, and stage raw materials to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Convert measurements (gallons to pounds, pounds to kilograms) using a calculator as required
  • Operate mixers, pumps, valves, and PLC-controlled equipment to start, stop, and monitor blending processes
  • Monitor equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation
  • Accurately record raw material usage, batch data, and lot codes on batch sheets and in the Oracle inventory system with verification
  • Collect samples and perform required in-process quality checks per SOP
  • Assemble, disassemble, clean, and sanitize mixing equipment according to sanitation and food safety procedures
  • Maintain clean, organized, and food-safe work areas
  • Follow all GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and safety policies, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout, and machine guarding
  • Communicate batching issues, material shortages, or equipment concerns to the Line Lead or Supervisor
  • Work collaboratively with Operations Mixer II to support daily kitchen schedules
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisory staff

  • Team player
  • Basic math skills
  • Detail orientated
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Mechanical and Troubleshooting skills
  • Food Industry experience and knowledge of GMP.
  • Able to consistently lift up to 50 pounds above shoulders
  • Must be able to tolerate standing for long periods of time (8-12) hours.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills




Education:


High School Diploma/GED



Experience:


Manufacturing experience preferred.



Knowledge and Skills:


Candidate must possess basic math skills. Be detailed orientated with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:


Majority of work is performed standing. Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs to 50 lbs and be able to climb and descend staircases multiple times per hour.
