Inventory Control Clerk

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible
for the performance of inventory control functions to maintain the accuracy and
integrity of data and ensure the proper storage of materials per internal and
external requirements. They will perform record
keeping activities, auditing, data entry activities, and coordinate information
among related departments, monitor inventory, report problems, and meet
company and department objectives.

Job Summary

  • Performs visual verification of material items, monitors inventory levels, and reports or anticipates problems and shortages.
  • Utilizes integrated ERP system to perform daily transactions for issue, receipt, inquiry, report operations complete, and other functions as trained and instructed.
  • Performs general housekeeping activities in storage areas.
  • Maintains documentation of all activities related to material issues (cards, labels, tags, etc.).
  • Interfaces with customer, independent auditors and company representatives during inventories, audits, and reconciliation.
  • Physically moves, pulls from stock items per routing Bill of Material instructions and per shipping documentation from Final Inspection.
  • Issues raw materials both physically and in the system and maintains traceability through lot tracking.
  • Understands and follows all internal procedures for material receipts, issue and traceability.
  • Receives raw materials and components, assigns lot numbers.
  • Follows priorities and meet schedules.
  • Packs, protects, stores and secures materials either for storage or transport.
  • Operates label making equipment and affixes labels to skids, boxes, bags, or other storage medium.
  • Nests raw material requirements of work orders to best utilize raw material.
  • Maintains inventory and other stock records. Issues inventory to correct operator.
  • Performs daily audits.
  • Assists with product identification, location and cyclic counts.
  • Ensures product shelves are tagged and labeled; creates locations for all new parts.
  • Issues and kits both upper level and subordinate assemblies.
  • Prepares and delivers kits of raw materials, mylars and tools required in the manufacturing process.
  • Receives tools from customer activities, ensuring proper data entry into inventory storage locations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some experience with aerospace materials, storage, control, traceability, procedures, or specifications preferred.
  • Proficient use in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous use with ERP systems a plus.
  • Communicates courteously and professionally at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, count, work with fractions and decimals.
  • Must be able to open and close wooden crates by using crowbars, hammers, nails, staple guns, or other related equipment.
  • Annual baseline hearing test is required.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push wheeled carts/tables.

This is a generic job posting for a SMT Operator. Depending on the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience, they will be hired into an entry (I) level, intermediate (II) level or expert (III) level job and pay scale.

Pay range: $18.00-19.50/hour
