Summary
Processes, transmits and distributes semi and bi-weekly payroll; Ensures the accuracy of payroll and related payroll tax filings, as well as payroll general ledger interface. Demonstrates high degree of professionalism given access to sensitive employee information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Payroll Processing for 2000+ associates
  • Processes all adjustments to payroll earnings and employee records, including but not limited to new hires, wage adjustments, reclassifications, data changes, terminations, third party sick pay and garnishments.
  • Transmit semi-monthly, bi-weekly & supplemental payroll data to payroll system and reviews resulting documentation such as the payroll register, the GL interface and payroll tax reporting.
  • Responsible for communication regarding payroll to timekeepers and group leaders.
  • Reconciles the payroll tax general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Reviews payroll tax filings (FIT, SIT, FUI, SUI) for accuracy and proper filing.
  • Prepares monthly Labor Statistics report.
  • Prepares the Quarterly Multiple worksite report for NC, SC and AL.
  • Prepares monthly required New Hire report and hours report
  • Prepares company termination report for Concur admin and travel vendor.
  • Ensures accuracy of all associates W-2's and distributes them within governmental deadlines.
  • Assists outside auditors with the annual Worker's Compensation audit and the annual financial statement audit.
  • Coordinates all payroll changes and enhancements with payroll system, as well as IRS correspondence.
  • Upload all garnishment and child support payments to payroll provider.
  • Participates in special projects, as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
  • Two-year associate degree: high school with five additional years' work experience may be accepted.
  • Three+ years of UKG payroll processing, reporting and payroll tax filing experience with payroll systems with General Ledger interface features.
  • UKG and SAP experience preferred.
Computer Skills
Intermediate PC skill levels with Microsoft Office; Proficient data entry skills with attention to detail.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to review and discuss withholding and income gross-up calculations for employees.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
