Description

The Card Service Payments Specialist serves as an expert resource in card payment operations, overseeing the accurate and timely processing of card transactions and resolving complex payment issues. This role is responsible for testing and certifying system upgrades or program changes, supporting card payment inquiries, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. As a key point of contact for both internal teams and external vendors, the specialist maintains high service levels through diligent monitoring, advanced problem-solving, and precise record-keeping.

Expected Outcomes



  • Accurate and timely card transaction and maintenance requests processing resulting in reliable service for members within designated service level standards.
  • Coordinating daily workflow, performing daily maintenance, and resolving any problems that arise in a prompt and effective manner.
  • System upgrades and program changes are tested and certified to ensure smooth member experiences, prompt resolution of card payment inquiries
  • Compliance with Visa rules and regulations, accurate reporting, and adherence to brand standards to ensure operational integrity and brand consistency.
  • Enhanced internal stakeholder collaboration and support by delivering expert guidance on card payment processes and problem resolution.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and services; address and resolve any issues that arise in a timely and effective manner.
  • Active participation in the implementation of payment related products and services, ensuring effective integration and alignment with organizational goals.


Capability Requirements



  • Associate's degree in business, finance, or related field; or equivalent experience in card operations and payment processing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in card operations, including experience working on card related platforms and knowledge of Visa regulations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for managing complex payment issues and identifying process improvements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to internal teams, external vendors, and members. Must be able to collaborate effectively and provide guidance on car payment processes and issue resolutions.
  • Ability to analyze situations, solve problems, and use good judgement to perform day-to-day responsibilities. Must possess strong decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of card payment operations and related tasks
  • Detail-oriented approach necessary for recordkeeping, auditing, and compliance tasks.


Additional Details:

Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.

Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.

Equipment Used: Variety of office equipment (telephone, printer, pc, mobile devices, etc).
