Allied Universal is Currently Hiring a Full Time Armed Security Officer for a State Office on Nantucket Island MA

Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4 PM

Starting Pay is $50.00 Per Hour / Paid Orientation / Paid Training

Candidate is Required to Have a Concealed Carry Permit and 1+ Years of Previous Security/Law Experience

**Applicant Must Live On The Island Year Round**

As a Security Officer in Nantucket, MA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with professionalism and clear communication. You will document observations, coordinate with site personnel, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service. This post requires a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit and a commitment to teamwork, reliability, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors at a government transportation location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to discourage unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by post.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify credentials as required by post orders, and document entries, exits, and notable activity in written and/or electronic logs.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts when appropriate and coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or public agencies per protocol.
  • Operate radios, phones, and/or surveillance systems as assigned; report hazards, maintenance concerns, and unusual conditions, and complete required incident reports and shift documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Maintain a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
