Connectivity Engineer

Connectivity Engineer – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Jefferies LLC) –  Design and implement FIX (Financial Information Exchange) protocol configuration and platform support. Facilitate software application log file analysis and reporting. Analyze scripting and programming to execute intricate and near real-time analysis in an ad-hoc environment. Analyze network layers as they pertain to FIX connectivity, and for intra and extranet vendor interactions. Develop physical and logical setup requirements, which include gathering, testing, and change management procedures. Provide production support and FIX client onboarding for all equity trading products offered by Jefferies. Partner directly with traders, infrastructure technology, equity operations, and compliance teams, to resolve issues and implement tactical and strategic solutions. Gather new requirements from trading desk and implement them in production. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or in a related role OR Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or in a related role. All of the required experience must have included experience with: planning and implementing scalable network solutions; analyzing network security protocols and configurations; diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues; ensuring secure data transmission across different platforms; and supporting change management, incident management, and application production processes. This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our New York, NY office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location. Salary: $253,000/year.
