Private Equity Vice President – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Brookfield Asset Management LLC) – Make investment recommendations based on due diligence work, industry knowledge, and risk-return assessment. Structure, direct and lead private equity transactions in the U.S. and other developed (e.g., Western Europe) and developing (e.g., Latin America) markets. Support transaction closing processes (documentation, closing statements, financing). Serve as Project Manager for transaction due diligence processes. Coordinate transaction execution work streams (acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and asset management). Monitor operating and financial performance of assigned portfolio companies. Prepare materials for fundraising efforts and give presentations to current investors. Identify business development opportunities, both within existing company portfolio and through acquisition opportunities. Requirements: Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field and seven (7) years of experience in the position offered or in a related role. All of the required experience must have included experience with: sourcing, executing, and closing private equity transactions in developing and developed markets; coordinating private equity transaction execution workstreams; drafting and negotiating M&A legal documentation; filing for regulatory approvals for acquisitions of companies owned by a private equity fund; executing market, legal, tax, accounting, environmental, insurance, and compliance due diligence processes for the acquisition and sale of companies across developing and developed markets; overseeing operations of private equity holding vehicles; leading capital markets processes for portfolio companies (debt and equity issuances); and negotiating and executing credit agreements for the acquisition financing of a leveraged buyout.
