Audit Principal

Audit Principal – (job location is Melville, NY; employer is UHY Advisors Northeast, Inc.) – Plan, manage, and oversee multiple client audits from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results. Ensure all audits comply with professional standards, regulations, and the firm's internal guidelines. Mentor and manage audit teams, fostering professional growth, providing guidance, and ensuring effective execution of audit plans. Provide technical expertise in US GAAP and IFRS accounting, auditing standards (PCAOB and ISA), and SEC financial reporting procedures. Perform detailed review of audit work papers in accordance with PCAOB auditing standards. Provide on-the-job coaching to team members on technical accounting topics and PCAOB documentation standards. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field and eight (8) years of experience in the position offered or in a related role. All of the required experience must have included experience with: working in an accounting or auditing role at a Big 4 accounting firm; utilizing knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP); utilizing knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); utilizing knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS); financial reporting including SEC filings; internal and external regulator inspections; IPO and SPAC filings; business combination, carve-out accounting, going concern, impairment, revenue recognition, and share-based payments; and SOX 404 and internal controls requirement. Must have Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our Melville, NY office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location.
