Vice President

Vice President – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Brookfield Asset Management LLC) – Make recommendations on potential investments to senior leadership. Lead due diligence on prospective investment opportunities. Manage the internal investment and transaction execution process, which includes working with the capital markets team on sourcing debt financing for the acquisition, tax team to ensure proforma tax expenses are included in underwriting projections, and legal team to ensure legal documents reflect agreed upon economic terms that are reflected in the financial model. Provide feedback on financial model analysis performed by associates/junior members working on the transaction. Screen potential investments and make judgement calls for what opportunities to pursue further and spend resources on. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or in a related role. Three (3) years of the required experience must have included experience with: modeling corporate transactions, including leveraged buyout/take-privates, investments across the capital structure, and programmatic joint ventures; modeling asset-level acquisitions across various asset types, including office, industrial, multifamily, retail, and hotel; conducting supply-demand analysis for new sectors or markets to validate investment thesis on where capital should be deployed, including running various mathematical models / regression analysis to make forecasts; preparing cash flow projections, risks & mitigants analysis, transaction comparables, upside/downside case scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis; and utilizing project management skills to coordinate transaction execution work streams across various teams, including asset management, capital markets, legal, tax, and operations. Salary: $375,000/year. E-mail résumé to louise.connaughton@brookfield.com.
