Farnsworth Group is seeking a Surveying Technician - Office (MicroStation ORD/AutoCAD C3D) in one of the below posting locations. Posting Locations for this role: Peoria or Normal, IL What You'll Do: Work independently to obtain records & project information Prepares complex drawings from field data and field sketches using computer-aided drafting software platforms and ensures drawings are accurate and complete. Adheres to company and client standard CAD procedures as mandated. Exercises independent judgment in the execution of surveying deliverables. Communicates ideas for drawing execution, design and layout. Maintains schedules and communicates progress on a daily basis. Mentors less experienced surveying technicians and offers advice & knowledge. What You'll Need: 6+ years previous surveying experience Valid US driver's license & good driving record High School diploma or equivalent Ability to operate in a mentor / mentee team atmosphere Ability to understand and utilize current & new technology Safety oriented Excellent communication skills Positive and collaborative work ethic Experience with MS Office products (Word & Excel) Nice To Haves: 10+ years previous surveying experience Expert/advanced understanding of land surveying and geometry. Expert knowledge of AutoCAD C3D and/or MicroStation ORD CST1 or CST 2 or CST 3 (certified survey technician level 1 or 2 or 3) certification. Experienced with Aerial Drone and 3D Point Cloud scanning technology. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: Primarily an office position, ability to work outside on projects if needed. Ability to work in various terrain & weather conditions and recognize safety hazards. Requires the ability to work on multi-discipline projects simultaneously. Ability to use a computer and work in an office environment. Makes suggestions & undertakes company mandated trainings to increase skill and ability.
