SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an Integrated Construction Coordinator II or Senior Integration Construction Coordinator (position will be determined based on the applicants' qualifications) to join our Solar Group in either our Minneapolis Headquarters, regional office, or fully remote. This role will partner and support our team to provide 3D modeling creation and automation using computational design techniques including parametric modeling.

You will be joining a rapidly growing Solar VDC Integration team that has grown from 2 to 13 team members in the past 4 years. We are a dynamic group focused on continuous learning and ever evolving innovation. We are looking for an innovator at heart and someone who is always looking to learn new technology. Excellent communication skills are necessary as you will interact with staff at all levels in a consistently changing environment.

Demonstrating the ability to be flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality will be vital for your success. Strong planning and organization skills are critical for completing your tasks. Ideal candidate can proficiently utilize Revit, Civil 3D, Dynamo, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Navisworks.

Additional experience with Python, Grasshopper, Rhino, and Revitzo is preferred. An added plus is a passion for drones / scanning technologies, and 4D schedule modeling experience.

  • Civil background and designing corridors preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, implement, and oversee VDC processes through appropriate technology platforms

  • Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D to design optimized road and site grading models, alignments, profiles, corridors, grading groups, etc.

  • Develop and manage BIM models using Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D from conceptual design through construction and as-built phases.

  • Create automation scripts and parametric tools using Dynamo to increase modeling efficiency, standardize documentation, and reduce manual tasks.

  • Coordinate and integrate scopes to support Solar field construction, supporting clash detection and constructability reviews using Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or Revitzo

  • Collaborate with preconstruction, estimating, and field teams to extract model data for quantity takeoffs, sequencing, and prefabrication workflows.

  • Develop and maintain BIM standards, families, templates, and automation libraries aligned with company best practices.

  • Support VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) initiatives including 4D scheduling, 5D cost integration, and digital fabrication strategies.

  • Provide technical leadership and training to project teams on BIM and computational design tools.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

  • 2-7 years experience,

  • Autodesk Revit, Autodesk ACC, Autodesk Civil3D, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper, Rhino, 4D schedule modeling experience

  • Drone/Scanning technology experience

  • GIS experience a plus, but not required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent field

  • Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and/or ArcGIS software

  • 4+ years related experience

  • Survey data knowledge and/or experience is preferred

  • GIS data management is a plus

  • Completion of intermediate level of BIM/VDC software training

  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks at a time

  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices

  • Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level

  • Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills

  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively

  • Strong communication, teamwork orientation, initiative, problem-solving, and leadership skills

  • Open to change based on diverse input and feedback

  • Current driver's license

**The base pay range for this role is $89,500 - $120,800. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
