Vice President, Trade Finance – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Banco Santander, S.A.) - Structure, price, execute and manage investment banking transactions end-to-end, including client onboarding and due diligence process. Serve as advisor, consultant, and first point of contact for clients exploring methods to optimize their working capital through receivables/structured trade solutions to meet their financing needs. Participate in the legal documentation negotiation of new and existing transactions. Lead internal approval process with risk, middle office and other support areas. Engage with bankers, other products and areas to support prospective new business origination and maintenance of existing book of transactions. Contribute to the development of the bank’s trade assets capabilities. Develop new client relationships while maintaining and enhancing existing revenue streams. Ensure compliance with bank operating practices and governance. Provide pricing/market intelligence for transactions to ensure deal profitability is aligned with the Bank’s capital models. Serve as first line of defense across all risks: financial/credit, legal, reputational, regulatory, compliance. Requirements: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics, plus 3 years of experience in the position offered or a trade finance position in an international bank or financial institution. All required experience must have included: performing distribution and syndication of trade assets to investors including banks, insurance companies and institutional investors; participating in (i) transactions involving trade credit insurance, comprehensive non-payment insurance, and other forms of risk distribution and (ii) legal execution and design of trade finance structures - focused on trade receivables (factoring, securitizations) and structured trade assets (contract monetization, repos, prepayments); applying knowledge of European regulations (Basel III) and U.S. banking regulations (Uniform Commercial Code); explaining IFRS and U.S. GAAP sale accounting; and analyzing market dynamics between banks, insurers, corporate clients and other parties in the value chain. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% for client meetings. #LI-DNI.
