What You'll Do:
The Supervisor, Grants is responsible for leading a team within the Operations Department of National Philanthropic Trust ("NPT"), who are primarily responsible for the timely and accurate issuance of grants, completing the due diligence on all grants (domestic and international) recommended by NPT donors and for ensuring compliance with NPT's and the IRS's requirements. The Supervisor is also responsible for reviewing current processes and programs, implementing changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, coordinating activities with internal and external stakeholders, and coaching/managing other members of the team to assist with professional development.
Salary range is $70,000 - $75,000 plus 12% annual discretionary bonus.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Premier Donor and Specialized Grant Functions
- Serve as subject matter expert and primary contact for premier donor and complex grantmaking, including standard and recoverable grant agreements
- Collaborate with Premier Services and Private Client teams to help deliver premium service and support for key premier and VIP donor relationships
- Supervise grants associates and provide reporting to ensure grants are monitored and best practices are upheld
- Oversee the daily workflow of the team
- Maintain a working knowledge of grants due diligence & DAF policies, including direct international grants and grant agreements.
- Conduct grant research using search tools such as GuideStar, IRS publication 78, religious organization directories, and other tools as necessary.
- Participate in projects related to current and future initiatives within the team and the broader Operations department
- Conduct outreach to grantees and donors or Financial Advisors on grant questions and clarifications.
- Work with the Accounting Team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sensitive grant payments, and that all grant payments are properly recorded in the database.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, as required, acting as Grants Team point of contact
- Train Associates and Senior Associates on new practices and procedures related to subject matter areas and provide guidance where future development/understanding is required
- Ensure documentation of standard operating procedures is current and accurate
- Guide the design and implementation of controls to ensure appropriate oversight and execution of daily activities
- Ensure service level agreements are met
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides daily oversight, guidance and coaching to team members
- Provides continuing supervision, training, and development opportunities to team members
- Assist in the hiring process, recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members and seasonal staff.
- Provides ongoing constructive feedback and timely performance evaluations
- Completes 90 day and annual performance reviews
- Holds regular weekly 1-1 meetings with team members
- Sets yearly goals with the team members
- Approves time off requests and manages employee overtime and PTO, etc.

- Proficient in the suite of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred)

- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and exercise independent, sound judgment
- Must possess unquestioned personal integrity and reliability; keep commitments, admit mistakes, accept responsibility for all team output and results, maintain confidentiality when necessary and appropriate, and act in the best interest of the organization at all times
- Excellent verbal, writing, and proofreading skills

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in the nonprofit or financial service/investment service industry
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with Donor-Advised funds and grantmaking best practices is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
