Position SummaryDaily Work Control is responsible for supporting safe, reliable, and continuous plant operation by ensuring that routine maintenance and corrective actions are properly scoped, planned, prepared, and executed. The objective of Daily Work Control is to coordinate and prioritize work activities, verify readiness of planned tasks, ensure compliance with licensing and procedural requirements, and support timely completion of corrective and preventive maintenance to maintain plant availability and reliability. Daily Work Control focuses on identifying daily work needs, coordinating with maintenance and operations, managing work schedules, resolving work package issues, and ensuring that planned tasks can be completed efficiently within established parameters. The Daily Work Control team is seeking a talented summer intern to assist in planning, scheduling, and preparing work activities that support daily plant operations. The Work Control organization uses established milestones to drive the following initiatives:
The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced personnel. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the operation of Diablo Canyon Power Plant through the work they will be performing. PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.08 to $36.42 QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Earning a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or computer science Students must be continuing education towards degree during and/or after the internship Desired:3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA Preferred degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Computer Science Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong communication skills, both oral and written Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction Experience with Sharepoint, OneNote, Excel, Power BI Experience with Mechanical/Electrical components (pumps, motors, circuit breakers, valves etc.) Previous internship and or work experience with power generation, transmission, project management PG&E is unable to provide VISA sponsorship to students on an F-1, J-1 or other student visa for this position. | |
