Investment Banking Senior Associate – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Nomura Securities International, Inc.) – Lead the execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions for clients across a broad range of industries, serving as bridge between junior team members and senior bankers -Review and refine the work of Associates and Analysts and provide feedback to improve the quality and accuracy of deliverables. Serve as primary point of contact for day-to-day client interactions to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Contribute to strategic decision-making by identifying key insights and recommendations that align with client’s goals. Support Managing Directors and Vice Presidents in business development by preparing proposals, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to the firm’s growth. Lead and guide team through all financial, structural, and business analyses as part of due diligence to assess the appropriate structures for potential transactions. Train and develop junior team members to ensure team cohesion and efficiency. Build and audit complex financial models. Conduct valuation analyses. Requirements: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Quantitative Finance, plus two years of experience in the position offered or as an investment banking analyst or associate. All of the required experience must have included structuring and execution of M&A transactions (buy-side and sell-side); building financial models including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, M&A models, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction; using Excel nested formulas, pivot tables and data validation functions; stress testing model assumptions to ensure they are error-free and logically structured; performing valuation analysis including intrinsic value, relative valuation (trading multiples, precedent transactions), sum-of-the-parts, option pricing and Black-Scholes; analyzing and interpreting financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow); preparing term sheets, engagement letters and NDAs; creating detailed pitchbooks, investment memoranda, and management presentations for client meetings and investor marketing; and ensuring transactions comply with regulatory requirements including SEC filings for public deals.
