Description

The Queens District Attorney's Office is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of IT Infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, including servers, systems, storage, and data centers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud computing and hyperconvergence technologies.

The Director, IT Infrastructure will perform the following job functions, including, but not limited to:



  • Leadership & Management: Lead and manage the IT Infrastructure team, providing strategic direction and oversight.
  • Cloud Computing: Oversee the implementation and management of cloud computing solutions to ensure scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Hyperconvergence: Implement and manage hyperconverged infrastructure to streamline operations and improve performance.
  • Servers & Systems: Ensure the optimal performance, security, and maintenance of all servers and systems.
  • Storage Management: Oversee data storage solutions, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security.
  • Data Center Operations: Manage data center operations, including disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Security: Implement and maintain robust security protocols to protect the organization's IT infrastructure.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure the best possible service and support.
  • Compliance: Ensure all IT infrastructure complies with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.


Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:

1. A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college and three years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience using information technology in computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, database administration, planning of data/information processing, user services, or area networks at least 18 months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of experience as described in "1" above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or recognized accrediting organization and six years of experience as described in "1" above; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or recognized accrediting organization and must possess at least three years of experience as described in "1" above, including the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.

For current New York City employees, a permanent computer-related civil service title is preferred but not required.

Technical Skills:



  • Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proven expertise in hyperconvergence technologies (e.g., Nutanix, VMware vSAN).
  • Strong knowledge of server, storage, and data center management.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 (Commensurate with experience)
