This is a temporary position. Temporary positions offer some paid leave and may offer partially subsidized state health benefits.


RECRUITMENT: The State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 5 (Anne Arundel County) is recruiting for a Shop Administrative Technician position. This is an Interview and Hire position that is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below for this position.

Nature of Work:
The main purpose of this position is to pick up, receive and deliver parts and supplies and take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment on hand. This position enters and retrieves data by computer and prepares, receives, approves and processes requisitions, invoices and purchase orders for stock replacement, equipment repair and replacement via computer entry. This position is a MD Corporate Credit Card holder and must maintain records of usage and reconciliation. This position inspects received items for quality and damage and ensures they are issued to the proper individuals. This position also stocks all supplies and materials for maintenance shops, personnel and contacts vendors with any issues .

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.


Experience: One (1) year of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility. May require the ability to type accurately at a speed of not less than twenty words per minute.

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Ability to operate computer systems such as EPICS, MAXIMO, EORS, CCMS
  • Ability to receive parts and supplies, take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment, enter and retrieve data via personal computer

Licenses & Certifications

Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in state of Maryland.

The selected candidate must pass SHA Level I Small Procurement Training Certification during the six-month probationary period.

Special Requirements:

This is an essential position and the employee must be available for 24-hour emergency call up with response time of less than one hour.

Employee is subject to 24-hour call-in must be able to be reached by phone, pager, etc. (provided at employee's expense).
