If you can say yes to these questions, we may have an ideal role for you as a Human Resources Director (HRD) at Bryan Health. The HRD leads our employee experience team that encompasses HR Business Partners, employee events and employee health. This is a dynamic leadership role that impacts over 7,800 employees in many different locations and entities across the state of Nebraska. This role will be located in Lincoln, NE but require some travel across the health system to meet the needs of our employees and leaders.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Shapes how employees experience Bryan Health while ensuring our practices are compliant, consistent and aligned across our organization. Serves as a trusted advisor to leaders, a champion for employees and a strategic partner in developing and executing workforce strategies.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.



  2. *Trains, hires, and oversees the work of Employee Experience and Employee Health teams.



  3. *Serves as a key advisor for leadership on employee relations, conducting investigations and promoting a positive work environment.



  4. *Monitors HR metrics to identify trends and develops tactics to address organizational challenges.



  5. *Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and human resource policies and procedures.



  6. *Leads and facilitates the employee relations program and related functions.



  7. Develops and maintains appropriate human resources policies, and procedures.



  8. Strategizes and implements improvement in areas of employee relations, recognition and retention.



  9. Develops, implements and maintains a wide variety of events/activities designed to enhance employee appreciation and retention.



  10. Communicates with employees and leaders regarding employee experience; provides guidance and recommendations for resolution of issues.



  11. *Educates employees and leaders on concerns related to applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other similar federal and state laws.



  12. *Assists leaders in understanding and implementing organizational policies related to performance, corrective action, and related topics.



  13. Partners with HR division leadership to provide the best solutions to retention issues or challenges.



  14. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.



  15. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.



  16. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:




  1. Comprehensive expertise across all core human resources functions.



  2. Knowledge of human resources and labor relations principles, practices, and procedures.



  3. Knowledge of organizational development management and education and training philosophies and methods.



  4. Knowledge of statistical concepts, methods of data collection and interpretation.



  5. Skill in conflict diffusion and resolution.



  6. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, boards, officials, directors, and other stakeholders.



  7. Ability to relate and communicate with a wide range of customers having socio-economic, educational, cultural and racial differences and practices.



  8. Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and work as a team member.



  9. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to effectively present material and key messages in presentations to various sized audiences.



  10. Ability to compile, research, and analyze information.



  11. Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.



  12. Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.



  13. Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes.



  14. Ability to make operational and management decisions in response to changing conditions.



  15. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.



  16. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.





EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. Master's degree strongly preferred. Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in human resource leadership required including exposure to and direct responsibility for the majority of assigned duties.
