Precinmac is a leading supplier of mission-critical, precision machined components used in the aerospace and defense, semiconductor, and automation equipment sectors. We specialize in manufacturing uniquely designed high tolerance precision machined components and assemblies, with a focus on continuous improvement, on-time delivery, and the highest possible quality and consistency. We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist who has a drive for excellence and precision and experience with 4 axis horizontal mill experience and/or lathe/mill turn experience.
Shift Available:
- Friday-Sunday 5PM-5AM - Work 36 hours, get paid for 40 PLUS earn a 30% night shift differential AND a $4.00 Team Lead differential
Job Summary:
The Machinist Team Lead must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in set-up and operation of CNC milling machines. Strong technical, interpersonal, supervisory, and organizational skills are required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises assigned members of the production team
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manages workflow within the department ensuring tasks are completed in a timely fashion
- Adherence to production schedule
- Assure proper setup of all jobs
- Troubleshoot all set-up and CNC program related problems
- Obtain and return to storage all required tooling
- Assure the proper use and handling of calibrated measuring instruments
- Assure timely return of measuring instruments for calibration as required
- Proper interpretation of drawings and operation sheets
- Assure that travelers and processes are completed in the proper sequence and signed/stamped and dated by the person performing the work
- Communicates with supervisor, engineers, maintenance, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
- Be accountable for time, attendance and transactions made by direct reports
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments, such as but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, and indicators
- Knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions
- Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines
- Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Computer literate with experience in Windows based programs and shop ERP systems
- Strong interpersonal communicating skills with all levels of employees, both verbally and written
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment
- Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, if needed
- Ability and willingness to train and develop employees
- Possess improvement ideas such as process, CNC programs and tooling
- Working knowledge of RCCA (root cause correct actions)
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills (decision making, accountability towards company policy with regards to the following:
- Team time approvals, disciplinary actions, inspection-ISO requirements, planning time off appropriately within the team, OTD goals with the customer and other manufacturing departments, working with dispatch and prioritizing working with scheduling.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED, Technical/Vocational training desired
- Minimum of 5 years' operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines within a controlled job shop environment
- Proficient knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments, such as but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, and indicators
- Knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions
- Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing/walking at times.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
